About Us
On February 18, 2009, the President unveiled the Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan that sought to provide solutions to the home mortgage crisis facing over 9 million Americans whose homes are threatened with foreclosure avoid foreclosure.
The goal of the plan was to create new incentives for banks to work with borrowers to modify the terms of sub-prime loans at risk of default and foreclosure.
This proposal has met with stiff resistance from the mortgage industry, who in one way or another contributed in creating this crisis in the first place.
It is no secret that a majority of these banks received billions of dollars in taxpayer bailout money. Are they also willing to help Americans whose money was used to bail them out, by re-negotiating or refinancing some of these mortgages?
Until now, there has been no outlet for Americans to share their experiences with their mortgage Lenders. What are your Lenders and mortgage companies saying or doing when you contact them to refinance or modify the terms of your loan?
MortgageOffender allows you to share and post your experience and comments with your mortgage Lender when you contact them to take advantage of the Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan.
MortgageOffender lets Americans know which Lenders care about the welfare of the nearly 7-9 million Americans faced with the sub-prime mortgage loan crisis and foreclosure.
From submissions by homeowners nationwide, MortgageOffender ranks lenders resistant to modifying the terms of their mortgages. MortgageOffender creates a MortgageOffender HALL OF SHAME for lenders with the highest number of refusals to modify loans and a HALL OF FAME for those that are making an effort to help homeowners restructure their loans and avoid foreclosure.
